Planning tips
Reserve the big dinners first
The well-known restaurants in these cities book up weeks out, especially for a big table. Reserve as soon as you have dates, and put the confirmation on the plan.
Pick the shows early
Most venues post their calendars a few weeks ahead. Choose the night's music first, then plan dinner nearby.
Bring ID
Many music clubs are 21 and up and check ID at the door, for everyone in the group.
Split the tab as you go
Log dinners, covers and rounds in Freya as they happen, split between the people they're for, and settle up once at the end.

Questions
What are the best US cities for a food and music trip?
New Orleans, Nashville and Austin all have live music every night of the week and food worth planning around. Charleston is quieter for music but one of the best food cities in the South.
How far ahead should we book restaurants for a group?
For well-known restaurants, two to eight weeks ahead, and earlier for a big table on a weekend. Some, like Brennan's in New Orleans, open reservations 60 days out.
