A Zion National Park weekend
Itineraries · Springdale, UT · 3 days
A 3-day Zion National Park plan for friends: the Riverside Walk and The Narrows, Emerald Pools, Canyon Overlook at sunset, and where to eat in Springdale.
Zion is busiest in the main canyon, so this plan starts early each day and saves the short, easy hikes for afternoons. It works for most groups; the big hikes are marked so people can split up and meet for dinner.

Tips
- Most of the year the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive is shuttle-only. Check the shuttle season and times on the park's website before you go.
- Angels Landing needs a permit from a lottery. Apply ahead, or plan Scout Lookout as the turnaround.
- The Narrows can close when the river runs high or flash floods are forecast. Check conditions at the visitor center that morning.
- Groceries, ice and firewood are easiest to get in Springdale before you head into the park.
